Man, West Virginia | A Great Place For Hillbillies?
Man, WV is a pretty unique place. With a population of 706, and a median household income of around 70k, it's definitely in a lot better shape than most of West Virginia. This IS the Home of The Hillbillies, as its school name suggests. Let's take a quick drive through and check it out.

Mckees Rocks is said to be the most dangerous place in Pennsylvania, but taking a drive through it, is it really? With a poverty level of over 30%, a declining population of 5695, and a median income of just 31,000 per household it's not exactly great. There's definitely some rough areas here, let's take a drive and check some of it out!

Here's SOME of the worst areas in Knoxville, TN. Although the crime stats suggest crime to be twice the national average and poverty level more than 22.5%, are the worst areas really THAT bad? The population is certainly growing at 796,337, and increasing every year so maybe it's not all that bad, right? Let's take a drive and check it out.

Today I'll be going through Braddock, PA on a 4k night drive. Braddock is a borough in the Pittsburgh area, and part of the industrial rust belt. Population is 1,656 as of 2024. It is severely in decline from a high of 20,879 from the 1920's. Theres a lot of abandoned homes and buildings as you would expect. However, I find the place unique and interesting. It has a strong sense of community vi...

East Liverpool, Ohio 4k drive at night. Mainly looking at the downtown areas with some industrial as well. East Liverpool has been known as "The Pottery Capital of the World", although nowadays it's certainly not like it used to be when production was in full swing. This is a rust belt city along the Ohio River, population is 9,599 in 2024. The population has been in the decline since the 1940'...
West Virginia | What Is an Appalachian Holler?
Просмотров 19 тыс.Месяц назад
So what really is an Appalachian Holler in West Virginia? Well, it's usually a very narrow road surrounded by beautiful mountainsides. It will have a creek running beside it, and of course will have a dog watching your every move as it sits or stands on the road, might even chase ya (almost always happens to me). A lot of times the holler will be family or close knit friends, they will always s...

Cuthbert, GA...how bad is it? With a soaring poverty level of over 39%, a population in a decline for over 15 years, and an income per capita of 60% less than the national average, this city is in trouble. Amenities are about non existent, commutes are long, and with about 2700 people left here, what exactly happened? So many abandoned homes and businesses, in many parts of it Cuthbert feels li...
Shawnee, Ohio | What Happened Here?

Shawnee, Ohio...WOW! This place looks like it's been frozen in time, and has a very haunting feel to it. At a quick glance Main Street looks like a total ghost town, looking into it further, this is home to 506 residents. Founded in 1872, and located in Perry County in the Southern part of Ohio, this was a booming coal mine area. Coal mining, furnaces, and brick factories were a large part of t...

Atlanta, Georgia Hoods | Here Is What I Saw
As someone looking in from the UK this looks like the American dream personified! Some of the roads could do with resurfacing but apart from that there's not much to moan about. I'd love to live here 🇺🇲
Looks well kept. A proud people live there.
Middle of nowhere. ZZZZZZZ!
What an awesome post by u ! Is it possible for a stretch the trucks cost more then homes ? I think I saw a dozen in one street between 50 and 100k ? Are elite city escapees buying up best props and driving $ out of site ? I always wonder if runoff flooding is an issue on some of the props Thx 4 this video!
Something Japanese about WV!
What a cute town!! Some of the cleanest and most well-behaved hillbillies I've ever seen! 😂 Really, though, what a great place!
👍👍...............
Who wouldn't want to live here? Even the shadier parts of WV are safer than big cities and surrounded by beauty. Real estate prices are less than half of most states. If you want your family to survive the coming apocalypse, move to a rural mountain town. WV would be a good choice.
I didn’t grow up in War but close by, my grandfather and uncles were coal miners and farmers. Many of the towns we went to either looked like this, or began looking like this as I grew up. I remember going into little towns that were fairly empty and eating at amazing little mom and pop diners. I’m 33 now and live on the other side of the country, but WV still pulls at my heart all this time later. I hope I can make it back one day.
Cute little town! Thanks for showing us! 😊❤
Looks like many more than 700 people live there....
It sure seems like it but it’s been on a decline for quite some time actually
War is a good name for that town because it looks like it had been in one
But you never say WHICH neighborhood.....😑
That looks like a pleasant place to live, it did look very hot & humid. Thank you
Does that town have a grocery store?
Nice "Ride-A-Long" through an idyllic looking town. You cannot tell from appearances but, I wonder what the residents are like? Are they welcoming to outsiders? By the looks of "Old Glory" (and no other flag) proudly displayed in most homes. The must be Fine people!👍
I stayed in some beautiful towns in WV back when Airbnb was paying to sleep on someone's couch. Met some of the nicest folks and ate some of the best food. ❤
Can you hear the dulling banjos in the background?
Good place to move to?
It’s a pretty nice place and low on crime
Pretty. It's Sunday so everything downtown is closed.
I'm from indonesia. WV it's beautiful.i hope someday i can going to WV. Insyallah, aamiin ya rabb
This is about the only decent peaceful town in all of West Virginia! That I've seen of all the videos of West Virginia. Lot's of speed limit signs! I didn't see one single McDonalds! But those trees slopping at 40* making up a creepy forest.
I'd live there. Looks like a nice, neat and clean small town. Beautiful scenery.
I love this place ❤
I live close to West Virginia, in Maryland. It's all do very beautiful here. I like to hang out in Harpers Ferry and there are amazing hikes there.
Are trash cans not a thing in Philly?
Real Appalachian did an episode on this place.
It didn't have to be this way.
I love small towns with Mountains all around. So beautiful!
What's the name of the town?
Man
Very peaceful video to watch. Love seeing a WVA town that looks so beautiful to me. ❤
You must go to hamburg st georg. It is worse!
Beautiful small town WV. You can tell they have pride, it definitely shows. Thank you for showing a positive side of my home state.
West Virginia is beautiful place. I spent some time there as a kid.
I am from Greece and I think this is a great place nonetheless. Thanks for the video
Hello to Greece!

Thanks for watching John!
Thanks for the stats 👍🏻 what a gorgeous small community. I could easily make this my hometown. Everything is so clean and picturesque! I just love the mountains. Great adventure, thanks 🤠👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It reminds me of Westernport, Maryland.
I use to pass thru back in the early 80's for my work. It was a busy hub at that time. It's sad seeing it now. Almost a ghost town.😢
I could’ve there. Just need a job that I can pay bills with.
I just drove thru WV for the first time 3 weeks ago, was a beautiful drive!
I grew up in northern WVa. You could use the term "Hillbillie" for almost any part of WVa, and also the a joining counties over in Ohio for that matter. How about that Fastback Mustang @ 1:07!
I was hoping it was for sale lol

The homes in man west Virginia seem to be very well kept up. 😊❤

Living in the rural cou try, but still on top of each other. 😂
I love West Virginia. I took a drive from Wheeling, down the river to shadyside Ohio. Beautiful stretch of road.
